MONTGOMERY, Alabama – Team Alabama has returned from a productive 2014 Farnborough International Air Show after securing three project announcements involving more than 700 new aerospace jobs and participating in scores of company meetings.
Governor Robert Bentley reported that the state’s air show economic development team, which included Commerce Secretary Greg Canfield, engaged in nearly two dozen meetings with aerospace companies that have operations in Alabama and others that could expand to the state.

Economic development specialists and elected officials from several communities and regions of Alabama also participated in meetings and appointments at the Farnborough air show, which attracts legions of representatives from all the major aerospace companies in the world.
“What we’ve been doing is following up with clients on projects we’ve been working on for the past year,” Matt Parker, president of the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce, said at the show. “It’s a great opportunity – they’re all here. You can just walk across the hall and meet with them.”
